Tendonitis and Arthritis … A Space Age Treatment
Traditionally there have been many procedures designed to provide treatment for tendonitis and many other debilitating conditions like arthritis, spondylitis and osteoporosis, plus a range of sports injuries including pulled muscles, sprains, strains, torn ligaments, lower back pain, and other related musculoskeletal problems.
Some of these painful conditions, are common enough to have names like policeman’s heel, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, swimmer’s shoulder, pitcher’s shoulder, frozen shoulder and housemaid’s knee. I’m sure there are others that I can’t think of at the moment. Mostly we just want to get better and get rid of the pain.
The most popular treatment for tendonitis down the years was possibly heat treatment, although paradoxically cold packs have also been employed to reduce inflammation. Other methods, such as heat rubs, liniments like wintergreen oil, anti-inflammatory gels and capsules, have also played their part. In the most painful situations corticosteroid injections are really unpleasant, and the last resort in seriously crippling cases of joint destruction can be complete surgical replacement. If you suffer from any or several of the above, you will know precisely how your quality of life can be reduced, at times to the point of despair, and that you would benefit from a successful treatment for tendonitis or arthritis.
Are you involved in sport?
As a professional you know how you can be denied the opportunity to earn an income. As an amateur sportsperson you may be sidelined with no chance to continue the enjoyment of your chosen activity.
Although the current space program is coming to an end, in recent years we have seen astronauts working in the weightless conditions of space for lengthy periods. The resultant muscular atrophy experienced, together with other musculoskeletal problems such as arthritis and osteoporosis, led research scientists to discover what was needed to overcome these conditions. In it's initial stages of development the technology, first known as Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy, was used to simulate and stimulate the body’s natural healing and regeneration systems synthetically, and has historically been shown to be an effective treatment for tendonitis in its many forms.
PEMF
As far back as 1984 that highly respected medical journal The Lancet carried an article which read:- ‘The value of pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) for the treatment of persistent rotator cuff tendonitis was tested in a double-blind controlled study in 29 patients whose symptoms were refractory to steroid injection and other conventional conservative measures. The treated group (15 patients) had a significant benefit compared with the control group (14 patients) during the first 4 weeks of the study, when the control group received a placebo. In the second 4 weeks, when all patients were on active coils, no significant differences were noted between the groups. This lack of difference persisted over the third phase, when neither group received any treatment for 8 weeks. At the end of the study 19 (65%) of the 29 patients were symptomless and 5 others much improved. PEMF therapy may thus be useful in the treatment of severe and persistent rotator cuff and possibly other chronic tendon lesions.’ Effectively, this concludes that of the groups tested, 83% experienced either a complete, or at least partial, recovery.
Biomimetics
Since then, particularly in respect of the design and development of the e-cell, this technology has been extensively enhanced and refined, and has now been further developed into a much more complex and powerful system of what is known as Biomimetics. Biomimetic refers to human-made processes, substances, devices, or systems that imitate nature. The art and science of designing and building biomimetic apparatus is called biomimetics, and is of special interest to researchers in nanotechnology, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), the medical industry, and the military. Enter the e-cell. To take advantage of this very latest in technological advancement, by getting biomimetic treatment for tendonitis, I highly recommend the e-cell. If your life is in any way limited by the problems mentioned, you won't believe the difference it makes in speeding up your recovery time and the management of pain.
